CODE OF CONDUCT

BY JOINING PURE PICKLEBALL, YOU AGREE TO...

Pure Pickleball is built around good games, good people and a community where everyone should feel welcome.
Whenever you play, compete, attend an event or represent Pure, we ask you to follow a few simple standards.

BE A GOOD HUMAN.
Treat players, coaches, staff, volunteers, visitors and venue staff with respect.
Abusive, threatening, discriminatory, intimidating or deliberately offensive behaviour has no place at Pure.

PLAY FAIR.
Play honestly, respect the rules and make calls fairly.
Competitive pickleball is encouraged. Bad sportsmanship isn't.
Challenge yourself. Try to win. Enjoy the battle. Then leave it on the court.

RESPECT YOUR OPPONENTS.
Different people play for different reasons and everyone develops at a different pace.
Be encouraging. Be patient. Don't deliberately embarrass, intimidate or exclude other players.

PLAY AT THE RIGHT LEVEL.
Choose sessions and competitions that reasonably match your ability and experience.
Be honest about your playing level or rating. If you're unsure where you belong, ask us — we'll help.

RESPECT THE COURTS.
Wear clean, non-marking indoor court shoes and look after the venue, nets, paddles, balls and other equipment.
Follow any venue rules and leave the space as you found it.

LISTEN WHEN SAFETY MATTERS.
Follow reasonable instructions from Pure staff and coaches.
If play needs to stop because of an injury, emergency, court issue or other safety concern, stop immediately.
Tell us about anything you believe could make the court or session unsafe.

KEEP IT IN PERSPECTIVE.
We love competition at Pure.
There will be close games, questionable shots, missed serves, frustrating losses and opponents who somehow seem to hit every bloody line.
That's sport.
Celebrate. Compete. Get frustrated if you need to. But don't let your behaviour spoil somebody else's experience.

LOOK OUT FOR EACH OTHER.
Pure is a community.
Welcome new players. Help people who are finding their feet. Include people. Celebrate other people's progress as well as your own.
A small bit of encouragement can make a big difference to someone's experience.

REPRESENT PURE WELL.
If you're playing as part of Team Pure or representing the club at an external event, remember that your behaviour reflects on the wider Pure community.
Compete hard, support your teammates and treat organisers, officials and opponents with respect.

SPEAK TO US.
If something doesn't feel right, tell us.
Whether it's behaviour, safety, safeguarding or something affecting your experience at Pure, we'd rather know about it and have the opportunity to deal with it.

AND FINALLY...
Nobody gets everything right all the time.
We're not interested in creating a club full of rules. We're interested in creating the kind of pickleball community people genuinely want to be part of.

Pure Pickleball may step in where behaviour seriously or repeatedly falls below these standards. This can include asking someone to leave a session, suspending participation or, where necessary, removing access to Pure activities.

Fortunately, it should rarely need to come to that.

Be competitive. Be welcoming. Be respectful.
