More Than a Place to Play Pickleball

You can measure a pickleball club in lots of ways.
Courts booked.
Sessions delivered.
Games played.
Tournament medals.
They're all useful.
But they don't really explain Pure.
The better measure might be the person who arrived knowing nobody and now walks into the sports hall knowing almost everybody.
Or the beginner who spent their first session apologising every time they missed the ball and six months later is entering a competition.
Or the WhatsApp messages arranging games.
The friendships.
The people hanging around after their session has finished because they're not quite ready to go home.
That's the good stuff.
Pure started as somewhere to play pickleball in Cheshire.
It has gradually become a community built around playing pickleball.
There's a difference.
We're incredibly proud of the players winning medals and representing Pure around the country. We want more of that.
But success for us can't only mean producing better pickleball players.
We want people to become more active.
We want someone who hasn't exercised regularly for years to find something they actually look forward to.
We want people to make friends.
We want children discovering a sport they can potentially play for decades.
We want someone nervous about arriving alone to eventually become the person welcoming the next newcomer through the door.
And yes, we want some seriously good pickleball happening too.
We're still relatively early in the Pure story.
There are new sessions to develop, community programmes to launch, players to introduce to the sport and plenty of ideas we're probably yet to think of.
But we know what we want to protect as we grow.
Good pickleball.
Good people.
And a place where you feel like you belong.
